Smells like candyfloss and provides and non sticky sheen to
my lips, oh how much this H&M lip-gloss has become a staple in my makeup
bag. I cannot describe how much I hate
overly sticky lip-gloss; with the exception of NYX’s Megashine range or Sally Hansen’s
Carmindy line, I haven’t come across a range that doesn’t act like a magnet for
my hair or random bits of food when worn.
Thankfully this gloss adds a nice sheen to my lips when paired with
MAC’s Fresh Brew for my current nude lip look of choice and as such, was deserving of
being featured on a post of its own.

Blush Crush - IMAN COSMETICS’ Luxury Blushing Powder: Sable
IMAN COSMETICS’ Luxury Blushing
Powder in Sable has been an obsession of mine since checking out a YouTube
video on blue eye shadow. Seeing the makeup artist use it as a contour on the
eye to help blend out the shadow had me drooling; the richness of the
models skin tone and the gorgeousness of the blue against the reddish - brown
had me intrigued. Thankfully the beauty gods were smiling on me, and a quick hunt around my local Black hair &beauty suppliers had this blush securely in my possession- result.
I’m not a massive fan of sparkly
blush and so the matt finish really appealed. Playing around with the blush I
have come to love it as a contour / non sparkly bronzer / eye colour. This
blush has lasted on my skin during the warm summer months and I couldn’t resist
taking a swatch of it on my cheeks in the natural light.
I love the fact that that I have gotten so much use out of this one item and it has re-ignited my 'soft-daytime' look. As a lady of colour, I love the fact that this line has produced such as cracking product!

Belt Up!
I
love the fact that ASOS Curve has put some thought into the items they have on
offer. The OBI, Teal and interlocked Black/ Gold belt on the left are clear favourites for me,
but this changes depending upon what I’m wearing. I have to commend ASOS for bring
out a plus size range; I used to work near their offices in Mornington Crescent
and always admired the staff’s outfits as they would commute to work. Hopefully, as the popularity of their Curve
range grows, other retailers will start to produce items that are highly
fashionable and at a decent price point.

Plus Size Fashion: Special Occasion Outfit
Coral Jacket – Tesco (UK Supermarket)
Black Peplum Scuba Top- New Look Inspire range
Black Pencil Skirt – ASOS CURVE
Back Courts – Steve Madden
White Envelope Clutch – Dorothy Perkins
Gold Drop Earrings – Jewellery Line from Boots
I wore this outfit a few weeks
ago to the Christening of my Godson.
I had purchased the scuba peplum
top from New Look's plus size range –Inspire, earlier in the year and really
wanted to wear it. However, as it was a joyous happy occasion I wanted to add
some colour and the coral formal jacket from Tesco’s clothing range (Florence +
Fred) broke up the starkness of the black pencil skirt from ASOS’s Curve line.
The addition of the Dorothy Perkins envelope clutch helped add more colour into
the outfit and added a reference point for my gold earrings. I adored the ASOS Curve pencil Skirt and
wanted to show it off the amazing silhouette it provided to the fullest and so
had to add my favourite Steve Madden heels for the added drama.
I really struggled to put this outfit together within the
time scale and am so glad that my trusty shops ASOS, and New Look had some
fashionable items for me to wear. Whilst
Tesco’s has a plus size range I don’t tend to shop from it as the items aren’t
cut for my frame and so tend to stalk the aisles for the odd items in sizes the
UK 20/22. I like the fact that items from Tesco's will wash well last and I have a few work dresses that I adore from them.
We had an excllent day, my godson looked so cute and was excellent during the whole affair. Big kisses to him!
