I love the fact that ASOS Curve has put some thought into the items they have on offer. The OBI, Teal and interlocked Black/ Gold  belt on the left are clear favourites for me, but this changes depending upon what I’m wearing. I have to commend ASOS for bring out a plus size range; I used to work near their offices in Mornington Crescent and always admired the staff’s outfits as they would commute to work.  Hopefully, as the popularity of their Curve range grows, other retailers will start to produce items that are highly fashionable and at a decent price point.

I wore this outfit a few weeks ago to the Christening of my Godson.

I had purchased the scuba peplum top from New Look's plus size range –Inspire, earlier in the year and really wanted to wear it. However, as it was a joyous happy occasion I wanted to add some colour and the coral formal jacket from Tesco’s clothing range (Florence + Fred) broke up the starkness of the black pencil skirt from ASOS’s Curve line. The addition of the Dorothy Perkins envelope clutch helped add more colour into the outfit and added a reference point for my gold earrings.  I adored the ASOS Curve pencil Skirt and wanted to show it off the amazing silhouette it provided to the fullest and so had to add my favourite Steve Madden heels for the added drama. 

I really struggled to put this outfit together within the time scale and am so glad that my trusty shops ASOS, and New Look had some fashionable items for me to wear.  Whilst Tesco’s has a plus size range I don’t tend to shop from it as the items aren’t cut for my frame and so tend to stalk the aisles for the odd items in sizes the UK 20/22. I like the fact that items from Tesco's will wash well last and I have a few work dresses that I adore from them. 

We had an excllent day, my godson looked so cute and was excellent during the whole affair. Big kisses to him!

The fashion pact has multiplied in number over the last few days for London Fashion Week (LFW) and the streets are buzzing with the sounds of SLRs clicking. As a plus size shopper I often enjoy watching trends emerge on the Catwalk and have the usual conversation with friends over which trend is truly wearable. I also have the added burden of trying to secure fashionable pieces that are flattering to my particular aesthetic and fit within my price range. I often turn to the internet for help, sourcing inspiration from the many blogs and increasing YouTube vloggers who are kind enough to share their looks with the world.  So I have decided to dedicate the next couple of entries to fashion, posting recent outfits and items I cam currently crushing on; hopefully I can return the favour and provide some useful ideas to others who don’t fit comfortably into the every designer’s clothes.

Elizabeth Arden: Visible Difference Refining Moisture Cream Complex

BLKMimiLDN readers may recall I recently blogged about my love of Elizabeth Arden’s Perpetual Moisture Crème in my Sun-Proof skin post. In typical fashion I ran out before securing a backup and so found myself needing to rush out to purchase another cream that promised to do wonderful things for the skin on my face. I went out and picked up Elizabeth Arden's Visible Difference Refining Moisture Cream Complex.

What does the brand say?

...The classic moisturizing formula. Rich, emollient, protective, it cushions skin with moisture and provides an occlusive barrier to prevent moisture loss. Tests show a significant reduction in the appearance of fine dryness lines and a dramatic improvement in skin's appearance in just 14-21 days. Dermatologist, allergy and clinically tested.

My findings:

Initially I was sceptical and my skin didn’t appear to be impressed, but I preserved, using it as my night cream and was left pleasantly surprised. The cream is thick and wonderfully rich. After ten days I noticed that my skin had a new level of radiance about it and was happily moisturised. Despite having eczema I am not overly adverse to products containing fragrance and I am happy to report that this product’s scent invoked happy childhood memories for me.

It is exciting times for Elizabeth Arden; the brand has been quick to embrace and capitalise on new skincare technology, replacing older lines with items packed with concentrated goodies - I already have my eye on two other products!
